Meeting God in the Midst of Extremes

Easter and Holy Week Services

April 13-20, 2025

Holy Week is more than just the big moments—it’s the tension, the waiting, the in-between. And that’s where God meets us.

Join us at Minooka United Methodist Church as we walk through the journey of Holy Week, embracing every step—from Palm Sunday’s cheers to the quiet of Holy Saturday, and the joy of Easter morning.  Each service invites you to pause, reflect, and experience God's presence in every in-between moment.

Minooka United Methodist Church is an inclusive congregation that embraces diversity. All are welcome here, regardless of race, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, documentation status, ethnicity, or any doubts and questions about faith and religion.

Worship experiences are held at 1210 S. Ridge Road, Minooka IL 60447. Or join us via livestream on Facebook or on our website.

Palm/Passion Sunday - Shouting [and] Silence

Sunday, April 13, 9:30 AM

As Jesus enters Jerusalem, the crowds cheer, and the religious leaders demand quiet. Some voices rise in praise, others try to silence the moment. What does this tension teach us about faith today? Join us as we wave palms, sing, and prepare our hearts for Holy Week.

All are welcome—come as you are.

Maundy Thursday – Power & Humility

Thursday, April 17, 7:00 PM

At his last meal with the disciples, Jesus flips the script on power—kneeling to wash feet, breaking bread, and offering love in the face of betrayal. Through scripture, song, and communion, we’ll remember his call to serve.

Come reflect on the depth of Christ’s love.

Good Friday – Acceptance [and] Resistance

Friday, April 18, 7:00 PM

At the cross, Jesus meets both rejection and acceptance, doubt and belief. This service invites us into that sacred space—through scripture, music, and quiet reflection—as we remember his sacrifice and sit with the weight of the moment.

Join us in this time of reverence and prayer.

Holy Saturday – The In-Between

Saturday, April 19, 7:00 PM

Between the cross and the empty tomb, there is waiting, grief, and uncertainty. Holy Saturday is a space to hold the tension of loss and hope. This quiet, contemplative service invites you to sit in the in-between and trust that resurrection is coming.

Come and rest in the mystery.

Easter Sunday – Grief & Hope

Sunday, April 20, 9:30 AM

The women came to the tomb in grief—but hope met them there. Easter is our reminder that even in the hardest moments, new life is possible. Come celebrate the resurrection with joyful music, meaningful worship, and a message of hope.

You are invited—come and see!
