ASP Mission Trip
Our youth helping families in need
ASP Mission Trip
MUMC sends a group of youth and adult volunteers annually to participate in the ASP Summer Program that focuses on all-inclusive week-long mission trips for volunteers 14 and up. Through impactful home repair projects for families in Central Appalachia, youth and adult volunteers experience the transformation of their hearts and minds. The Appalachia Service Project is a Christian ministry that has deployed over 400,000 volunteers on mission trips throughout Appalachia, repairing more than 18,000 homes along the way. From ramps and roofs to painting and flooring, ASP completes a variety of home repair and new home construction projects. ASP serves in 25 counties throughout KY, NC, TN, VA, and WV.
The Minooka United Methodist Church completed its annual mission trip to the Appalachian area the first week of June 2023. The 10 missionaries served in Floyd County, Kentucky. The Minooka United Methodist Church Mission Team would like to express our appreciation for all those who supported this effort, it can’t be done without you. God’s work is not always easy or glamorous, our youth stepped up to do jobs that many would refuse. WWJD, I think we know who is beside us in spirit.
Contact the church office if you are interested in participating in the 2024 trip.
