Appalachia Service Project (ASP)

Saturday, June 8, to Saturday, June 15, 2024

MUMC is excited to invite youth and adult volunteers to join our annual Appalachia Service Project (ASP) Summer Project.

About ASP

The Appalachia Service Project (ASP) Summer Project is a transformative experience that brings volunteers and communities together in the heart of Central Appalachia. This initiative aims to strengthen faith, deepen relationships, and spread hope.

What We Do

ASP focuses on various projects, including:

  • Home repairs (ramps, roofs, painting, flooring)
  • Critical repairs to raise homes out of substandard conditions
  • Building new homes in select locations when homes are beyond repair or affected by a disaster
  • Establishing meaningful, long-lasting relationships with homeowners, fellow volunteers, and staff

Making a Difference

Our mission is to make homes warmer, safer, and drier for Appalachian families, providing critical repairs to uplift homes and building new homes in specific situations.

Volunteer Requirements

  • All volunteers must have completed 6th grade
  • Age requirement: 11 years old and up
